Process & Fees
Although I am a tri-state area artist, I am available to travel worldwide.
process
At the first meeting, we will discuss the client's ideas and expectations for the portrait, and where the photography session will take place. Meeting and talking with, and observing the person(s) to be portrayed gives me an opportunity to think about how best to compose and light the portrait.
A photography session, included in the portrait fee, is scheduled. Different poses are tried while digital photographs are taken to bring out the personality of the subject. The photo session takes approximately one hour.
I then select the photographs that I feel are the best, and share them with the client to choose the final pose. Frequently, elements of different photographs will be combined with the selected pose to show the subject at their best. A composition sketch is then created for the client's approval prior to starting the painting or drawing. Then, when the painting or drawing is almost finished, shown to the client for comments, either in person or through emailed photographs. Comments are then incorporated into the portrait and presented again to the client for approval prior to delivery.
If the portrait is a surprise for someone, or if you would like a posthumous portrait done, etc, we can skip the meetings, and I can work from a few good quality pictures sent to artbyjasminesade@gmail.com.
In the email, please let me know if you would like a painting or drawing, style of portrait (head & shoulders, 1/2 length with hands, 3/4 length, full-length seated or grand manner), and the size of the portrait.
